Training your technical staff in basic stuff - For only £45.
The course that never was, but we all wish it had been !!!!
How staff should compile an accounts or audit working paper file
to the highest standard , yet cost effectively?
Rarely do you see courses advertised on the nuts and bolts of
how junior and technical staff should put together a good quality
working paper file. It is just touched upon in the professional
syllabus Instead, we learnt by trial and error, a hint here, a mistake
there.
How and why do you put together an accounts or audit working paper
file? What should be in the file ? What evidence should be in the
file? What control accounts should there be and how should they
be verified? How do you present notes and queries to a partner?
How do you structure and annotate a schedule? How do you record
adjustments to the accounts supplied by the client? How should work
be documented? What about planning and finalisation? How should
issues be flagged for a letter of comment or for money laundering
compliance? What about identifying cross selling of professional
services (where permitted)?
How often have you found the work of your technical (and even senior!)
colleagues lacking in these areas? How often do standards vary from
firm to firm? How do you ensure that work is not overdone in an
accounts file or underdone in an audit file, yet still ensure that
quality standards are cost effectively maintained?
We are offering a course on:
The legal, professional and practical requirements of a working
paper file
Its structure and content for both regulated and unregulated
work
Proportionality of work relative to the nature of the assignment
All other aspects of preparing good quality files, both electronic
and on paper
Forensic consequences of a good or bad file
Because of our experience of providing charity accounting courses
in charity premises at low cost , we are able to offer these general
accountancy courses at an affordable cost. You do not want to pay
hundreds of pounds for courses for technical staff.
Although the courses are primarily aimed at technical staff, more
senior staff might also benefit from a structured refresher course
in this area.
Get your technical staff to get the basic stuff right, and you
will be well on the way to satisfying the quality control inspectors.
The course will be delivered by Peter Brown, a Registered Auditor,
whose firm holds the prestigious ACCA Quality Assured Mark –
so you can be assured your staff will be trained in best practice.
Courses will be held in St Albans, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bolton,
Leeds, York, Newcastle and Guildford. All courses run from 9.45am
- 4.00pm
